Turion Space’s DROID.002 Evades Aggressor in Historic Multinational Exercise SALITRE

In a first-of-its-kind partnership between SPACEFOR-SOUTH, the Joint Commercial Operations Cell (JCO), and five allied nations, DROID.002 was a key enabling partner in a dynamic "fog of war" space defense scenario. The satellite conducted real-world maneuvers to evade a simulated adversary.

The Mission

While conducting its primary mission in support of allied forces, DROID.002 was targeted by a simulated "Red" aggressor satellite. Guided by real-time alerts from an international JCO team, our Mission Ops team commanded DROID.002 to execute physical avoidance burns throughout a four-day ‘cat-and-mouse’ chase in low-Earth orbit. We successfully evaded the 500m intercept zone while continuing our primary mission.

Strategic Impact

SALITRE is the largest South American aviation wargame in 2026, and this year it included Space. The strategic weight of SALITRE, highlighted by a personal visit from the President of Chile to the exercise HQ, underscores the critical need for commercial and military space integration.

By successfully executing live maneuvers and integrating directly with the JCO, we are bringing battle-tested orbital defense experience to the private sector—a capability that has historically been missing.
